So I have finally come to the conclusion (it took long enough) that 90% of all Warcraft gamers are malicious. 30 year old men transform into 12 year old children for the sake of a pixel and they will do ANYTHING for their gear. It appears I was a direct victim of that desire for end game gear - this weekend my arena partner hacked my account and deleted everything on it with the exception of my Amani War Bear.
Wierd huh?
Yeah I found it pretty suspicious too, particularly when he knew just a little too much about the entire thing. My suspicions were confirmed when I discovered that the top guild Alliance side (who hate me) were aware of the hacking too. They knew before I had even logged on and a certain individual (who I won't name) declared that I'd brought it on myself. Now don't get me wrong I can be blunt on that damn game when I meet idiots but generally I'm pretty nice so I couldn't quite figure out what I'd done wrong.
The short of it?
I had quit the guild because of their abuse and refused to be a martyr for them. Along with that the raid schedule was absolutely killing me, no sane people raid from 1am-6am nearly every day when they have a life. Regardless, I held my tongue about my reasons for leaving given that guild is notorious for drama, I shrugged it off and said I'd left because I couldn't handle the raid schedule anymore. Their version was quite different and according to their renowned '

R Agent' and avid WoW socialite I had been gkicked.
The irony of this is that guild continually struggles for healers, given that absolutely none of the healers desire to stay.
It's unfortunate but this guild is well known for carrying individuals from green gear to epics, T6 and bear mounts included. So what better way to get me back for not fighting with them, then to set my own very materialistic arena partner on me. I can only assume that in return for his Amani war bear and some runs through Hyjal/BT...all he had to do was hack my account and delete everything I own.
Except the War Bear - a fact that still makes me giggle.
Alas, having spoken with Blizzard they had already been alerted to the bizarre activity on my account (tut tut) and restored 100% of my lost items within two hours of contacting them. Unfortunately my materials, gold pots and so forth remain lost and a full restoration and investigation hasn't yet been completed. This doesn't concern me -too- much though given they can be farmed back.
...The gear, couldn't.
So I would like to extend a warning to all those who think they're super good friends with their gaming buddies on WoW. Rethink it...immediately. I can almost guarantee that if they are offered the chance for T6 gear in exchange for screwing you over they'll do it in a heart beat.
30 year old men are ridiculous, this might explain why they're single.
And it might also explain why the 17 year old kidlettes that play it will never get laid, nearly always fit into the stereotypical nerd appearance and really DO live in their Mommy's basement.
I sort of pity them.
Sort of.
But honestly I'm simply happy my gear and my adored Talbuk have been returned to me completely unharmed. I may have had to pay a 40g repair bill to fix my broken gear, but they're back and that's all that matters. It's just a shame that neither of the parties involve realise that if they received the 5k worth of gold on my account - then the investigation will find that and warrant it as suspicious.

Oh well, karma works in strange ways. It alerted me to the fact I need to take another look at my account security and take measures to make it impossible to reach once the investigation is done. Oi, the investigation may take a while but even so.
Just be careful guys, you never know what might happen.
On another note, I will be transferring Chizuamaya away from Emerald Dream and the bad eggs that exist on there. The location I choose to move her to remains undisclosed and I will not be guaranteeing her name remains the same.
I want to enjoy a game, not endure constant hacking attempts from little asshats that think they can get away with it.
((Btw, ty for the compliments regarding my shaman's story. I wanted to give her a clean break. More updates will be coming soon - provided no other curve ball is chucked my way.))
